Gospel Sharing Drill #1
.... Now that we’ve learned about evangelism in our previous module, it’s time to practice sharing the gospel with others. For this, you’ll need live interaction with other Christian friends. Depending on the number of friends in your discipleship group, you’ll have the chance to observe the gospel being shared, to actually share the gospel, or to play your former self as others share the gospel with you. Or possibly, to do all three in turn..
.... To begin this drill, one person will think back to the days before they became a Christian, to a time when they might have been easily approached with the gospel. They will then set the stage by describing the outward setting: "I am sitting alone on a lawn chair at the end of a pier. Several other empty chairs are there. I have a fishing pole, but I’m just letting the line bob. It is morning and the sun is rising, but it’s summer, so it’s already getting warm."

.... Next, two friends will volunteer to participate in the drill by striking up a conversation with you, leading to a gospel pre- sentation. Our first volunteer will answer as they really would have answered at the time, and the other two as the Lord leads them. It is our experience that the Lord is quite willing to use these drills for training us, including His own participation in leading us, and speaking to the heart of each person!
.... "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
(2 Timothy 2:15)
.... During the drill, everyone else will take notes. Afterward, they may ask the participants to express what was on in their minds at certain points of the conversation, to see how the Lord might have been working during those points. Seeing both sides of the conversation will help everyone put the whole episode together in their mind, like the pieces of a puzzle.

6) Did the evangelists offer a ‘next step' for the listener, such as encouraging them to seek the Lord further, offering them literature or insuring they already had literature, exchanging contact information, or actually leading them to the Lord?

1 Comments:
I just met you this evening at the birthday party at Tony's house.
I have briefly scanned your teachings and so far I am excited. You are addressing things I have questioned over the last 15 years. Tithing, spiritual warfare and such. Keep up the good work, you are right on the money and its great to see God stirring people to question some of our Charismatic traditions which have not worked over the last 35 years. I once heard a man say insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. We hang on to teachings that are producing nothing but frustration and anger. We must reach a point and ask ourselves, what am I believing that is not producing results in my life and is what I practice the truth. Our relationship with Christ must be based on a one on one relationship with him and not a product of performance. We must understand our righteousness, what it really means, what the death, burial and resurrection of Christ did for us and how we can apply it to our lives to produce personal results and touch the lives of others around us.
God bless you, look forward to reading and studying more.
