The Lost Ministry of Amphipolis

.
.... Pulpit of the Last Days offers a systematic, open discipleship forum with a very intentional focus on Jesus. But between these basic subjects, or as occasion allows, we invite you to investigate our break-out modules, which can be accessed through links in the right-hand column.
.
.... This module portrays a ‘lost chapter’ from the Book of Acts. Paul came to Europe in response to God’s calling, first to the city of Philippi, and then to Thessalonica. But somewhere in between those cities an important event took place that would drastically change the shape of his ministry for years to come; and for the rest of his life he remained passionate, defen-sive, and even reactionary when he spoke about this change.
.
.... The evidence points to an undescribed incident that could only have occurred in the city of Amphipolis. By gleaning the clues from Paul’s own letters, the story of this controversy emerges at last: a conflict sinister and troubling, the effects of which have transcended the ages to plague the church to this day.
